The Most Popular GPS...

I recently asked a question in the 'Rain, as I've been known to do.

Which make and model GPS do you use?

I found the answers interesting.

80% of the responses indicated either "Built In To My Vehicle" or "Phone/Tablet" - split almost dead even between the two.

Only 20% of the responses favored a separate GPS device - Garmin, Magellan or TomTom, and of those, Garmin stole the show with 13 users versus 1 for each of the others.

We use a Garmin Nuvi, which replaced a TomTom who was obviously "worn out".

Next time we will opt for the "Built In To My Vehicle" option.

How about you?

I know Roger has an older, portable Garmin in his SUV, while my GPS is built into my car (and that is not a Garmin).  So basically, we 'fit into' the statistics that you Blogged about Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers!  Interesting to know the percentages of who has what - thanks for posting.

Hello Tony and Suzanne Marriott,  Yes my Lincoln has it built in and I love it.  Tom Tom is a great one also!

I have an android phone and always use it.  The lady who gives the directions has a British accent, so it's very proper.

I've got a Garmin.  When I first bought it, it was the top of the line (about $330) and I still LOVE it (about 4 years later).  It's about 4-5" wide and it is super simple to use. It even has Voice Command which sometimes doesn't work very well but it does work.  It also can  hook into my Blue Tooth on my phone, but that speaker on the GPS isn't very loud, so that feature isn't very good on mine.  Maybe the newer ones are louder?

When driving on the interstate, when we approach our exit, it shows us a real picture of the exit sign to look for and what the exit looks like.   I can also pop it off the charger and easily enter in all the addresses I'm showing and then when we are ready to go to the next house, just hit recent places and it shows me a list of addresses I've entered recently and I can click on it very quickly.

Even helps when we go camping out in the mountains, we can use it to remember which logging roads we took to get where we camped...  so we don't ever get lost.  Tracks where we've been.  Super useful feature when there aren't good road signs.

It is easy to follow on my windshield and I won't get a ticket using it, since we can't drive and use our phones here.  Plus much safer... using my phone and looking down was very dangerous!

It's a wonderful GPS.  I'd buy it again in a minute if it ever breaks.
