To Fax Or Not To Fax - That Is The Question!

I asked a few questions here in the 'Rain recently, as I often do.

This time the topic was faxing and fax numbers on business cards.

The questions, if you're interested, were:

When is the last time you sent or received a fax as part of a real estate transaction?

and

If you were printing new business cards tomorrow, would you include a fax number in your contact information?

The responses varied significantly.

Some had used fax as recently as a couple of days ago.

Others had not in years.

Lenders and Corporate Relocation, and probably Short Sales not using Equator, use faxing significantly more often.

We do have an eFax number via OnlineFaxes.com

But we have decided not to include the fax number on our business cards.

Too much risk of abuse of the fax number - which is annoying and potentially costly form of spam.

We pay about $60 per year for 500 pages in/out per month - which is more than adequate for our needs.

I did see some mention higher eFax pricing, so here's a screen grab of two of the plans OnlineFaxes.com offers:

Know of a "better deal"?

Feel free to post a link in the comments section!

I don't have my eFax number on my business cards. I rarely get a fax so there's no need to give that information out unless someone specifically needs it.

I stop putting on my fax numbers a couple of years ago and think I had 1 fax in the last 3 years.  Intersting and thanks for sharing.

I still have my fax number on my cards. Regular fax, not eFax. I still have clients who don't have the ability to scan but can get to a fax machine, plus I have the need for faxing with short sales, even if it's just the initial authorization letter.

When we moved our office about 3 years ago, we ditched the corporate fax. There are too many free options for the agents that need to send/receive a fax once in a blue moon.

I live in a rural area and I bet at least once a week for the past 10 years someone pops in my office and asks if I can fax something for them.  So I've kept the machine.  I also get an offer or signature back via fax about once a week or so on the fax.  I will be keeping it.  it's 29 a month.

There is no reason to put on a business card.  It's just clutter.  And, I just give out for the occasional times it's needed...if someone asks.

Tammy Lankford interesting...it's really like a marketing vehicle to you...and worth every penny I bet.  And, BTW, same w/ my Starbucks.  I know you don't really go there...but I get business while I'm there, so it pays for itself and then some.

I've not used fax in years.  I don't put it on my business cards.  But the pricing you shared isn't bad.

That's a better deal than I have from my current e-fax provider.  Might need to see if I want to make a change.
