Advice For Sellers - Are You Still Underwater?

So, you need to sell your current home.

 

There are a number of factors that contribute to the eventual sales price of the property under your control:

 

 

These include:

  • Quality of Property Photos
  • Condition including Property Preparation
  • Staging
  • Prelisting Inspection
  • Prelisting Appraisal

 

 

 

  

There is one item under you control that should be based on the property condition and presentation after completing the check list above.

 

List Price.

 

BIG PROBLEM!!!! 

 

Even though you have owned the property and have been making payments on time for the past 10 years, the market value of the home is still less than the amount you owe on the property, thanks to the crash in 2007 / 2008 - pick a year...

 

Or is it a big problem?

Good info!  There seems to be a general misunderstanding that mortgage payment default is necessary to initiate the short sale application process.  With proper education and guidance there are undoubtedly many who could benefit by a well executed short sale on their current home.
